Lee Burns was an architect, author, and community leader born in Bloomfield, Indiana in 1872. He attended Butler University. He was the founder of Burns Realty Company. By 1926, he and Edward D. James formed the architecture firm of Burns and James. They built many fine homes on the north side of Indianapolis. Caleb Mills (1806-1879) was born in Dunbarton, N.H. and graduated from Dartmouth College (Ind.) in 1828.
